While serving his 8 1/2 year sentence in jail after being found guilty of embezzling $100 million, former Tyco CEO Dennis Kozlowski received a letter from Kimberly Fusaro. The New York Times reports that “She knew him in passing in the mid-1990s when she was a Wall Street trader.” She was going through a divorce when she wrote to ask if he needed anything. He replied that he’d love a visit.
Fusaro’s first visit was in September 2009. She continued to visit Kozlowski in prison every weekend until he won work-release in January 2012. They married in 2013. Fusaro says her wedding ring is from Neiman Marcus, “Cubic zirconium under $300, with free shipping!” They now live in a two-bedroom rental on Manhattan’s East Side.
