Sasha Banks is the current NXT Women’s Champion. NXT is the WWE”s developmental system — it’s like the B league of professional wrestling. Banks (born Mercedes Kaestner-Varnado) has been wrestling in Chaotic Wrestling since she was 19. In 2012, she signed with WWE.
Banks says she was pressured as a kid to pursue music and acting. Why? “Because Snoop Dogg is my cousin,” she says. But “I only dreamt of being a sports entertainer. It was and is the greatest form of entertainment in my mind.”
