Katherine Winston is the 18-year-old singer/songwriter on American Idol from The Berkshires in Massachusetts. She’s little rock n’ roll, and a little country. Her inspirations are Johnny Cash, Stevie Nicks, and The Civil Wars. At her New York audition, she sang a soulful version of The Civil Wars’ “If I Didn’t Know Better.”
But it’s Winston’s original music that is most impressive. Check out her song “Black Rose” on SoundCloud. The American Idol website compares her voice to “sheets of silk.” Winston making the Top 24 on American Idol seems inevitable.
