Photographer Jonathan Nimerfroh was walking across a beach on the island of Nantucket when he saw strange looking waves rolling onto the shore. The waves were almost frozen due to the ice in the water.
Nimerfroh shared his photos of the heavy waves with local meteorologist WBZ-TV’s Eric Fisher who said, “It looks like a big Slurpee rolling ashore.” Makes sense, because the temperature there has been stuck between 7 and Eleven.
