UFC bantamweight fighter Cat Zingano is going after champion Ronda Rousey’s title on Saturday, February 28 at UFC 184. Rousey’s been in the press a lot lately – she’s appeared in the Sports Illustrated swimsuit issue and has a role in the highly anticipated Entourage Movie. Zingano, on the other hand, has been keeping a low profile. It’s been a tough couple of years for Zingano. She had a number of surgeries in 2013, and then her husband Mauricio Zingano, the father of their son Brayden, died by suicide in January 2014.
Before facing Rousey at UFC 184, Zingano announced that she passed both the drug test and the pregnancy test. The 32-year-old recently spoke about love with the Denver Post. “I never felt like that about anybody,” she said of her late husband, “And I don’t imagine feeling like that about anybody again.” Her focus is totally on the ring.
