UFC 182 will be broadcast tonight, January 3 at 8pm on FS1. The light-heavyweight title fight between champ Jon Jones and Daniel Cormier has MMA fans divided over who’s going to win. Chael Sonnen, the UFC fighter who’s challenged Jones for the title in the past says Cormier could win. “Desire trumps everything in sports,” Sonnen told MMAMania. “I think Daniel Cormier has the desire. I know Jon says he has it, but in theory Jon has already climbed that mountain six times. Been there, done that, made the money, had the glory.” Cormier implies Jones isn’t as hungry which “could tip in Daniel’s favor.”
If Cormier’s desire to win is as strong as Sonnen thinks, Sonnen predicts “someone is getting their ass kicked for five-straight rounds. I think it’s lopsided.”
