Italian figure skater Carolina Kostner, the 2014 Olympic bronze medalist and 2012 World Champion, has been banned from her sport for 16 months. She is accused of helping her then-boyfriend, Alex Schwazer, an Olympic gold medalist race walker, of covering up his use of performance-enhancing drugs.
Schwazer failed a drug test before the London Olympics. According to the Los Angeles Times, Kostner admitted that she lied when drug testers came looking for him at her home in 2012.
