Michael Sam, the first openly gay football player drafted into the NFL, is engaged to his University of Missouri sweetheart, swimmer Vito Cammisano. They’ve been vacationing in Europe since the new year. According to Page Six, the engagement took place in Rome.
Sam was drafted by the St. Louis Rams but was cut in August. Last month, during an interview in an Oprah Winfrey Network documentary, Sam said he “hoped to tie the knot some day” and that he was crossing his fingers that the special someone would be Cammisano.
