As you’ve heard, Mark Zuckerberg has launched a book club called A Year of Books. He has vowed to read a new book every other week in 2015. His next pick is Steven Pinker’s “The Better Angels of Our Nature.” Pinker’s theory is “violence has decreased in modern times and the world has become more humane.” After the recent terrorist attacks in Paris and the mass slaughters in Nigeria, it’s easy to forget this. Or disagree.
One of the few people Zuckerberg trusts, Microsoft founder Bill Gates, recommended Pinker’s book to him. Gates has called it his “favorite book of the last decade.”
