Head coach Nick Saban and the rest of the Crimson Tide might have ebbed a bit after the Sugar Bowl tsunami they suffered at the hands of Ohio State. But high tide is on the horizon for Alabama football if the recruiting class does what it’s supposed to. The Under Armour All-America game featuring the nation’s top high school football players turned into an advertisement for ‘Bama’s future, as not one but two top prospects declared their Alabama intent during the game.
Defensive Tackle Da’ron Payne announced part way through the second quarter. Then cornerback Kendall Sheffield flashed his Alabama gloves–those custom Nike Vapor Knit gloves, we think–at the Under Armour game. Speed and size are rare, brand loyalty can be taught.
