Call Me Maybe pop singer Carly Rae Jepsen is back in the studio. Her last album was Kiss in 2012. Jepsen’s making new music with Grammy winning record producer Ariel Rechtshaid and Dev Hynes of Blood Orange. Oh, and songwriter Jack Antonoff has been hanging around the studio, too. (He writes for Taylor Swift and dates Girls creator Lena Dunham.)
In 2014, Jepsen said she’s been listening to a lot of 90s music (Van Halen and Bruce Springsteen) and loving the 90s TV show Blossom. On top of that, she admitted to having a huge crush on 90s pop star Cyndi Lauper, whom Jespen got to meet at the Summer Sonic Festival in Japan. Jespen told MTV: “I just stalked her [Lauper] side stage and basically asked if I could one day work with her and she said ‘Yes.’” Sounds like Jepsen just wants to have fun!
