Brad Pitt and his production company Plan B are adapting another Michael Lewis bestseller, The Big Short: Inside the Doomsday Machine. The book follows several people who had a hand in creating the disastrous credit bubble of the 2000s which led to the financial crisis of 2007-2010. Lewis also wrote Moneyball, The Blind Side, Flash Boys and Liar’s Poker, among others.
Variety reports that Pitt will co-star with Christian Bale and Ryan Gosling. Pitt will produce. Former Saturday Night Live writer, Adam McKay, is writing and directing. McKay is best known for his comedy partnership with Will Ferrell. Together they wrote Anchorman and Talladega Nights, and founded the website Funny or Die. The Big Short is not a comedy.
