British rock and blues singer Joe Cocker died today, December 22. He’s best known for singing a cover of the Beatles’ With a Little Help from My Friends. He performed the song at Woodstock in 1969, and then decades later, it became the theme song of the TV series The Wonder Years. You Are So Beautiful and Up Where We Belong, a duet with Jennifer Warnes, were two of his other popular hits.
What many fans don’t know about Cocker is that after his divorce from his wife Eileen Webster, in 1978, Cocked moved onto a ranch in Santa Barbara, California, which was owned by actress Jane Fonda. He and his second wife, Pam Baker, eventually moved to another ranch in Crawford, Colorado, where Cocker died of lung cancer at the age of 70.
