Arnold Schwarzenneger was named 2014 Cigar Smoker of the Year last in November at the Spectator Cigar Awards. (Frasier star Kelsey Grammar was the happy runner-up.) Schwarzenegger is an old hand at blowing smoke–remember he ran two successful campaigns for governor of California. He’s also a guy who gives advice readily. So who wouldn’t want to learn how to smoke a cigar from the Terminator himself? Arnold Schwarzenegger’s simple one sentence instructions for smoking a cigar is below.
Schwarzenegger took Jimmy Fallon to the Havana Room, a members-only cigar smoking club in LA. Fallon, an amateur, kept lighting his cigar like he had a twitch. “Stop lighting it, stop lighting it, you lit it already!” Arnold reprimanded a nervous Fallon. Fallon kept sucking on the cigar wildly like a hungry baby. So Schwarzenegger gave Fallon (and all amateurs) the most important instruction: “Just calm. Just put it in your teeth and just suck on it nice and slow and the ashes will glow. Calm, slow.”
