Woody Harrelson has sex with a robot he built in an underground bunker in this nearly 5-minute skit that didn’t air during the SNL broadcast last Saturday. Harrelson plays a semi-mad scientist who was consigned to the underground bunker to build a indestructible killing machine for the US Military. He emerges to report to top brass (Beck Bennett, Kenan Thompson, and Taran Killam) that he made a dancing robot instead, played by Cecily Strong.
The skit seemed like a success in dress rehearsal but didn’t make the cut. Why not? It had great deadpan performances and some funny lines–the SNL recipe. Probably just the length. It can’t be Harrelson’s big phallic jokes were too much–SNL is, after all, the program that brought you Justin Timberlake singing Dick in a Box.
