There’s a new female VEEP coming to television. Movie star Sharon Stone (Basic Instinct, Casino) will star in a new action drama, Agent X, on TNT in 2015. Agent X refers to a person unseen by the public who works to protect the country, deployed only at the careful discretion of the Vice President, who’s played by Sharon Stone. It’s being described as National Treasure meets The Bourne Identity. Maybe because The Bourne Identity‘s William Blake Herron is involved!
Stone will co-star with Jeff Hephner (Interstellar, Chicago Fire) who plays “Agent X.” TV veteran Gerald McRaney (House of Cards, Major Dad, Simon & Simon) will play the Vice President’s Chief Steward who introduces the VP to Agent X. Lillah McCarthy, senior vice president of TNT and TBS Original Productions described Agent X as: “a slick, high-energy thrill-ride with lots of twists and turns, big action sequences and kick-ass stunts.” It’s TV, so Ms. Stone is expected to wear underwear.
