Former Gossip Girl actress Leighton Meester plays a “lesbian slacker” in the upcoming film Life Partners. Meester’s character, Sasha, is in a codependent friendship with Paige (Gillian Jacobs, Community), who is a “straight type-A” personality. Everything is fine until Paige meets Tim who is played by Adam Brody (The O.C.), Meester’s real life husband.
The film is based on the real lives of Joni Lefkowitz and Susana Fogel. They starred together in the 2008 web series Joni & Susanna. The pair initially considered Kristen Bell and Evan Rachel Wood for the Sasha role, but both women got pregnant.
