Not a lot of people tell Taylor Swift no, but this week legendary folk singer Joni Mitchell did. The Shake It Off singer was slated to portray Mitchell in her biopic Girls Like Us but Mitchell told the Sunday Times, “I squelched that.” She added, “I said to the producer, ‘All you’ve got is a girl with high cheekbones. It’s just a lot of gossip.”
Speaking of gossip, word was Alison Pill (Midnight in Paris, The Newsroom) was supposed to play Mitchell’s friend Carly Simon. Pill once sang with Naomi Judd for a Lifetime TV movie. Wonder who they had in mind for Carole King…
