At the low key Hollywood Film Awards on CBS, the actress/singer Jennifer Lopez made a televised gaffe while presenting the Animated Film Award to How To Train Your Dragon. Lopez, as distracted by the teleprompter as others were by her beauty, mistakenly called the film How To DRAIN your Dragon. JLo managed to look glamorous and poised even as she giggled at her error. And she had a hard time recovering–she just kept giggling before taking a deep breath and powering through the presentation. The celebrity-soaked crowd laughed along. “You don’t want to drain your dragon,” the American Idol judge admitted as Gerard Butler took the stage.
Butler, who accepted the award on behalf of the children’s film, took advantage. He turned casually to Lopez and said: “Thank you, Jennifer, for that flawless introduction.” But Butler knew he had a moment and he, well, drained it. “It’s a double honor tonight,” he said. “Because actually I’m getting an award for a movie I didn’t even know I was in, How to Drain Your Dragon. And if you think it’s difficult to train your dragon, try draining one!”
