Quentin Tarantino’s The Hateful Eight finally has a cast. The western, which was canceled after a script leak sent Tarantino into a hissy fit, but which later was restarted with a live script reading, and even has a trailer, will begin filming in early 2015 for a fall release date. The story of eight strangers stranded in a cabin during a blizzard will star Michael Madsen, Tim Roth, Bruce Dern, Jennifer Jason Leigh, Walton Goggins, Kurt Russell, Samuel L. Jackson, and Demián Bichir. Channing Tatum will also make a cameo.
Nobody knows who the source of the infamous script leak was (or at least nobody is saying.) At one point Tarantino had pointed the finger at Dern and Madsen. If it was either (or both) of them, the director must have forgiven them. As Vulture reports, “it’s good to see that neither Dern nor Madsen was punished after being fingered by QT as the source of the script leak that originally led the director to cancel the project.”
