When not modeling Charisma sheets and towels, Scott Foley, who plays Olivia’s (Kerry Washington) love interest Jake Ballard on the TV series Scandal, has been writing a script for a new comedy on ABC called To Max & Paige. Similar to the final season of How I Met Your Mother, the sitcom takes place over the course of Max and Paige’s wedding rehearsal dinner. When characters make toasts at the wedding, flashbacks will provide “the true story of their complicated, funny and relatable road to marriage.”
Foley got the deal after writing and directing his debut film Let’s Kill Ward’s Wife, which has not yet been released. Scandal executive producer Shonda Rhimes will produce To Max & Paige. In addition to producing Foley’s show, Scandal, How To Get Away With Murder, and Grey ‘s Anatomy, ABC darling Rhimes has another series in the works, a drama about the LAPD called Protect & Survive.
