Triple-threat Neil Patrick Harris (actor, singer, dancer) is getting his own variety show on NBC. It’s going to be the American version of the super popular UK show Ant and Dec’s Saturday Night Takeaway. Every show starts with a short comedy sketch usually based on something that’s happening in the news. Then Ant goes off-stage and talks to select members of the audience. He usually picks people who say something embarrassing about themselves. Live games that involve a person’s family and friends usually bring the studio audience to its knees with laughter.
As host of the American version, the How I Met Your Mother star will introduce musical numbers, magic tricks and hidden camera pranks on celebrities. Because an hour-long TV show can’t survive without celebrities.
