Atlanta rapper T.I. and his wife Tameka “Tiny” Harris (and their kids) are stars of the VH1 reality show T.I. & Tiny: The Family Hustle. On the next episode, which airs September 22 at 9/8c, Tiny (also a recording artist, she’s a former member of Xscape) takes a trip to the country with her BFF hairstylist Shekinah Jo and realizes it’s a lot different from downtown Atlanta. Hilarity ensues. So much so, that VH1 has decided to launch a spinoff called “Tiny & Shekinah’s Weave Trip.”
In the spinoff, cameras will follow Tiny (she’s 4’11”) and Shekinah on a cross-country road trip to promote their new mobile hair salon business. Determined that “everyone deserves fabulous hair,” they stop at some interesting places including the Voodoo Shop in New Orleans and the Navajo Nation in Arizona. Tiny compares the show to The Simple Life, the reality show that followed socialites Paris Hilton and Nicole Richie as they struggled with manual, low-paying jobs from farming to fast food. Tiny & Shekinah’s Weave Trip debuts October 13 at 9:30 ET on VH1.
