NBC hopes to duplicate the success of its 2013 live production of The Sound of Music with Peter Pan Live! Allison Williams of Girls is playing The Boy Who Won’t Grow Up. Sadie Gennis of TV Guide says that in the pre-production photos, Williams looks more like a 80s bike messenger (spandex shorts, no traditional tights) than a modern day fairy tale hero. NBC knows it going to take more than a pretty woman disguised as an adolescent boy/bike messenger to attract a large audience so it cast the ever charismatic Christopher Walken as an elegantly mustachioed Captain Hook. We can’t wait to see Walken raise his hook and deliver the line “Blast that Peter Pan!” NBC’s Peter Pan Live! will air December 4, 2014.
