Taylor Schilling who plays Piper Chapman in the Netflix hit series Orange Is the New Black is nominated for an Emmy in the Outstanding Lead Actress category. With or without an Emmy added to her resume, the 30-year-old Schilling will team up with Game of Thrones star Peter Dinklage to star in an Off-Broadway production of Ivan Turgenev’s A Month in the Country. The play will run from January 9 to February 15, 2015 at the Classic Stage Company in the East Village.
The last two major productions (in English) of A Month in the Country starred Helen Mirren. In 1994, Mirren starred as Natalya Petrovna with John Hurt and Ralph Fiennes at the Albery Theatre in London. And then a year later she starred in the American production with Ron Rifkin at Criterion Center Stage Right in New York. For the role, Mirren was nominated for a Tony.
