The executive producers of the ABC TV hit Scandal are filming another show to follow Scandal on Thursday nights. How To Get Away With Murder starring Viola Davis (The Help) is a “sexy, suspense-driven legal thriller” about a group of ambitious law students and their genius criminal defense professor (Viola Davis) who get tied up in a murder plot. Davis’ students include Billy Brown (Hostages, Sons of Anarchy), Alfie Enoch (Harry Potter), and Charlie Weber (90210, Buffy the Vampire Slayer), among others.
Both shows center around powerful, African American female leads, thanks to scripts produced by Shonda Rhimes. (She’s also the creator of Grey’s Anatomy, which airs on ABC right before Scandal!) How to Get Away With Murder premieres on ABC September 25, at 10pm.
