Fox News was found to have told the truth only 18% of the time
PunditFact (a branch of the Tampa Bay Times‘s Pulitzer Prize-winning PolitiFact) released grades on the truthfulness of major cable news networks this week, and the results are…well, not so shocking. For all statements checked, Fox News was found to have told the truth only 18 percent of the time, its statements receiving a score of “False”, “Mostly False” or “Pants on Fire” 60 percent of the time (22 percent ranked as half true).
Delighted liberals drafting “Told You So” Facebook messages now–hold your fire. The same study showed that MSNBC was lying 46 percent of the time. Better? Yes. Good enough? Please. The truthiest in the end was CNN, whose “facts” were only false 18 percent of the time–its incorrect information percentage matching the percentage of Fox’s true statements.
