On Season 16 of Project Runway, 27-year-old twins Claire and Shawn Buitendorp of Grand Ledge, Michigan, are competing on the reality TV fashion design competition. Claire is the one with long brown hair whose first client was Katy Perry. Shawn is rocking a crewcut and was hired by Betsey Johnson after a month internship. Claire is into pink party dresses (“fun, flirty, feminine”) while sister Shawn is into leather and has a more “rock and roll vibe.” As the twins like to say, “We are similar but different.” (Note matching nose rings.) The Buitendorp twins are 2 of 16 designers competing for the attention of Project Runway judges Heidi Klum, Nina Garcia, and Zac Posen.
Before deciding to compete against each other on Project Runway, the twins designed a line of art deco inspired leather jackets together. Check out the video they made from their shared, home closet. Project Runway airs Thursdays at 8pm on Lifetime.
