In the Blue Bloods episode ‘Genetics’, when an adoption case gets complicated for NYPD officers Jamie Reagan (Will Estes) and his partner Eddie (Vanessa Ray), they turn to Reagan’s sister, ADA Erin Reagan (Bridget Moynahan) for help. They don’t want the case to go to court. Meanwhile, Police Commissioner Frank Reagan (Tom Selleck) stops by the Police Academy to talk to cadets about not cheating on psych exams.
Commissioner Reagan is a big character and so is the actor who plays him. In one scene at the Academy, the 6’4” Tom Selleck appears to barely fit on the folding chair. See photo above. Sort of reminds us — in a nostalgic way — of how Selleck barely fit into his shorts back in his Magnum P.I. days. Just imagine the PC trying to squeeze into a New York City subway seat! “Police Commissioner Manspreads on 6 Train” would read the inevitable Daily News headline. Blue Bloods airs Fridays at 10pm on CBS.
