On Oprah: Where Are They Now? the cameras follow Carlton D. Ridenhour aka rapper Chuck D of Public Enemy. The same year he and Flava Flav were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2013, Chuck D returned to his alma mater, Adelphi University, to give the commencement speech and to accept his honorary doctorate degree.

It took Chuck D six years to earn his BFA in graphic design, which he received in 1984. He now admits, “I went there [to campus] every single day; I just didn’t go to class.” Chuck D spent a lot time at the campus radio station, WBAU. Fellow student Bill Stephney gave Chuck his own show in 1982, The Super Spectrum Mix Hour. Chuck D says Stephney was “the first person to incorporate and orchestrate rap music into college radio.” Oprah: Where Are They Now? airs Saturdays at 10pm on OWN.
