The Lifetime TV movie Death of a Vegas Showgirl is based on the life and death of real-life dancer Debbie Flores who was brutally murdered in 2010. The former Washington Redskins cheerleader went missing for one month before her dismembered body was discovered in two concrete-filled tubs. Later, her boyfriend Jason “Blu” Griffith (portrayed by Danson Gordon) was found guilty of Debbie’s murder and was sentenced to 10 years to life in prison.
Debbie is portrayed by Roselyn Sanchez who bought the rights to “Dancing on Her Grave: The Murder of a Las Vegas Showgirl” by Diana Montane and Carolina Sarassa. Sanchez is known for her roles on Devious Maids (Carmen Luna), Without a Trace (Elena Delgado), Kojak (ADA Carmen Warrick), Dragnet (Detective Elana Marcias), and As the World Turns (Pilar Domingo), among others. Sanchez is also recognized for her roles in the films The Game Plan with Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson (Monique Vasquez) and Rush Hour 2 with Jackie Chan and Chris Tucker. Death of a Vegas Showgirl premieres on Lifetime on Saturday, October 22 at 8pm.
