Tiana Webberley is one of the few female contestants on Season 8 of American Ninja Warrior. Right before the season premiere, 2paragraphs asked her: Are there any advantages (or disadvantages) to being a woman in the competition? Maybe something that we at home might not appreciate while watching?
Tiana replied: “There’s the typical disadvantage of being naturally a little shorter, which makes it harder to reach certain obstacles that have longer reaches or jumps. But we can also turn that into an advantage on other obstacles that have smaller ledges or where having less body weight to throw ourselves can be a help. I’ve always been competing growing up and always liked pushing myself to keep up with the guys though. So I don’t tend to think often about the advantages or disadvantages. I just try to keep positive, focus on what I have to do to succeed, and give it my all regardless.” American Ninja Warrior airs Wednesdays at 8pm on NBC.
