The trailer for Guillermo del Toro’s horror film Crimson Peak has been released. The film is about an aspiring writer (Mia Wasikowska) who is torn between her new husband (Tom Hiddleston) who has a mysterious past and her childhood friend who’s in love with her (Charlie Hunnam). Oh, and there’s her creepy sister-in-law to contend with (Jessica Chastain). They all live together in a beautifully haunted house called Crimson Peak in 19th Century England.
What makes the trailer is the music. “Red Right Hand” is a Nick Cave song sung by PJ Harvey. The cover was also used in a recent episode of the BBC drama Peaky Blinders. Red Right Hand is a line in John Milton’s Paradise Lost. It refers to the vengeful hand of God. Hint: it’s about a man who murders his family. Crimson Peak will be released in October 2015.
