Padma Lakshmi is best known as the co-host of the Bravo reality cooking competition Top Chef. When not taste testing and judging the plates of the chef contestants, Lakshmi often cooks at home.
For the party celebrating the new Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Edition (in which Lakshmi is featured, see above), she wore a stunning white dress with a plunging neckline. As seen in the video below, Lakshmi says she’s “pretty much against trends in food or fashion.” Although she does watch those 30- or 60-second recipe videos that are “really fast” for example for cold noodles and peanut sauce and sesame seeds.
The New York Times bestselling cookbook author (“Easy Exotic”, “Tangy, Tart, Hot, and Sweet”) says those videos that appear in her feed do influence her because she “winds up making them at home” because those are the ingredients she always has in her pantry at home.

When Parade magazine shared the interview video above, it wrote: “BRB running to see if we have everything to make her favorite recipe in the cupboard now.”
On the red carpet, Lakshmi also revealed her secret to being confident. Hint: “focus on your accomplishments and try to achieve goals that are important to you.”
