Get ready to see more of Hollywood star Natalie Portman (Black Swan, Star Wars, Closer, Thor, Anywhere But Here). The Oscar winner is promoting her new film, May December, with director Todd Haynes and his muse, Julianne Moore (Far From Heaven, Safe).
Moore plays a woman who infamously married a much younger man (Charles Melton, Riverdale). Twenty years after their tabloid romance “gripped the nation,” they welcome an actress (Portman) who’s doing research for a film about the couple into their lives.
As seen above and below, on the cover of The Hollywood Reporter, Portman — who strike a pose in two different lacy bras — talks about the film, the Cannes Film Festival, and her personality on set.
The Hollywood Reporter captioned the photo series below with a snippet of their interview with Portman: “People often tell me they’re surprised that I’m silly. But most people who know me well know I’m a pretty goofy person. Some people are surprised that I will be joking around before doing a very serious scene, but it’s part of how I function well. I need to leave the drama for the screen.”
While she doesn’t reveal her goofiness in the filmed interview above, she does reveal that a recent memorable time she laughed out loud was while watching comedian Ali Wong.
May December will be released in the U.S. on May 20.
