Lea Michele was best known for her role as Rachel Berry on the FOX musical series Glee. Now the 36-year-old singer/actress is shining bright on Broadway in the revival of Funny Girl as Fanny Brice, the character Barbra Streisand made famous in the original production and in the 1968 movie with Omar Sharif (Nicky Arnstein).
When Michele walked the red carpet at the 2023 MET Gala held at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York City, she stunned in a silver cutout, backless gown with bowties — see above and below. The dress was custom made for her by fellow New Yorker, designer Michael Kors.
More than one fan replied: “Hello, gorgeous!” (a line from the musical Funny Girl).
Michele also drew attention at TIME 100 event which entertained another fashion-forward audience including inductee Aubrey Plaza and her plus-one Amy Poehler. Michele sang ‘Don’t Rain on My Parade’ in a strapless blue column gown with a sweetheart neckline.
