Professional dancer Julianne Hough became a household name when she first stepped onto the dance floor on the televised celebrity dance competition, Dancing with the Stars with her brother, fellow pro dancer, Derek Hough. Both Hough siblings went on to win Mirror Ball trophies.
When not dancing, singing or acting, Julianne Hough often models. The 34-year-old Utah native is currently in New York City, where she was honored at the ACE Awards as the Accessories Council’s Style Ambassador. For the big event, Hough turned heads in a stunning sheer red halter top dress with multiple slits and ruffles.
With the photos above and video below, Hough writes: “I grew up in the bubble of Utah where the dress code was – modesty. Four fingers above the knee was as risqué as it got. When I was 10, I moved to London to pursue becoming a professional ballroom dancer and of course got a taste for designing my own costumes – the dress code for that was…leotards, fishnets, fringe, ruffles, eyelashes, fake tans, long red acrylic nails, and rhinestones, lots and lots of rhinestones. Going from one extreme to another my style was confusing to say the least.”
Hough adds that “Over this last year, being in New York City, has allowed me to choose for myself…to be daring, to take risks…and whether they’ve worked or not I’ve continued to evolve, with fashion at the forefront.”
