Hollywood movie star Ashley Judd accepted the Survivor of Suicide Loss Lifesaver Award at the 2023 Lifesavers Gala held by the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention in New York City. Judd’s mother, country music star, Naomi Judd, died of suicide in April 2022.
For the Lifesavers Gala awards ceremony, Judd wore a stunning floral print organza gown with an exposed back by designer Badgley Mischka. (Swipe photos below to see the exposed back of the dress.)
With her hair pulled back in small braids and a ponytail, Judd accessorized with large diamond stud earrings and ring, and a jeweled necklace with a cross.
With the photos above, Judd wrote about the “beautiful, tear and laughter filled night” and said it’s “a distinction none of us would ever desire, I accepted it on bloody knees as I have crawled through this year of grief and love, discovering with trauma-informed help the wisdom of wounds.”
Judd also thanked her family and friends including her partner, David Kessler, and U2 front man, Bono, among others.
More than one famous friend reacted with words of support and congratulation. Maria Shriver replied: “I’m so proud of you for walking thru your life in a way that inspires so many including me,” and country singer/songwriter Leeann Womack replied: “Wonderful” with a red heart emoji.
