LeBron James says the #6 on his Lakers jersey “feels like home.” And so does the city of Los Angeles obviously for the superstar who, if it weren’t for his title as “best player on the planet” could also be described as a journeyman.
James has moved around a bit — Cleveland to Miami to Cleveland to LA — since he started his first NBA game two decades ago (he’s in his 19th season). And James knows better than anybody what success requires, having brought NBA titles to all those cities. What does it mean this year? What’s the recipe? The Lakers already have “great chemistry,” he says.
Now what they need to do — this team of all-star veterans — is “hold each other accountable,” James says. Then he adds: “And we will.” It’s a convincing declaration coming from a man who has made accountability a priority throughout his stellar career. See James make his statement below.
Safe to say that Rajon Rondo, Carmelo Anthony, Anthony Davis, Russell Westbrook and Dwight Howard hear James loud and clear. And it’s also pretty safe to say that these players hardly need the prod from their team leader — everybody on the list above is almost certainly headed to the Basketball Hall of Fame.
Former NBA MVP and triple double genius Russell Westbrook looks ready in the GOLD #0.
And in his SIXTEENTH season, Rondo would like to strike this pose again…
