Oscar-winning writing team Jim Rash and Nat Faxon (The Descendants starring George Clooney) are working on a new movie, Downhill. It’s a biting comedy about an American married couple who, while vacationing in the Alps, escape an avalanche and are forced to reevaluate their relationship. Sarcasm plays a big role in the film.
Since Downhill will be released on Valentine’s Day, the marketing team behind the film is encouraging fans to create “one-of-a-kind sarcastic Valentine’s Day cards inspired by the upcoming comedy” (trailer below). Those selected will receive $2000 and the Valentine might be used in future marketing materials. Deadline for submissions is January 28.
Here’s a helpful hint to consider while creating your snarky Downhill Valentine’s card: “Feel free to include a sarcastic Valentine’s Day card phrase/message on your submission, e.g., “Love Goes Downhill,” or “A Romantic Disaster” or “Celebrate the One You Tolerate.”
Okay, it looks like they really did have fun together!
