“In 2001, this 76ers guard became the shortest NBA MVP in history and was the All-Star Game MVP in an Eastern Conference victory,” the beloved Jeopardy! host Alex Trebek told the three perplexed genius-level Jeopardy! contestants recently. Guess what? It ain’t Muggsy Bogues, as the contestant Kris guessed. Though Kris should get some credit: 5‘3″ Muggsy could ball for sure and was active in 2001, his last year in the NBA.
But slightly taller than Bogues, more beloved than even Trebek, and really active in 2001 was the NBA legend Allen Iverson.
The other two contestants couldn’t come up with AI either — a terrifically ironic situation since Iverson’s nickname is “The Answer”!!! You know who would have done pretty well on this episode of Jeopardy!? NBA superstar Kawhi Leonard would have aced the Iverson question. Leonard has made clear he is “an Iverson guy.”
