Jennifer Lopez is an entertainment juggernaut. Jenny from the Block just cannot be stopped, and she knows the secret to her success. “We go on tomorrow,” she says in the pre-concert video below, “everything better be right.” Looks like that demanding attitude pays off again, as JLo kicked off her It’s My Party Tour in Sacramento, California — where the fans went predictably nuts for their hero.
As JLo issues that demand, states that fact, she is also showing that it’s not all glamourous — this putting together of a major show. Those who are used to seeing Lopez in full makeup and major wardrobe will have to look twice to be sure it’s JLo talking, especially with no makeup on her eyes. JLo has said she wants the tour to be her giant birthday party, and Lopez is using the opportunity to redefine what it is to be a 50-year-old female entertainer. She may have once been On The 6, but she is on her own virtual space shuttle now. Lindsay Lohan liked this video so much she commented twice! “You are the best,” she wrote, echoing the sentiments of all JLo’s less famous followers. Those eyes are on the prize, with makeup or not.
