CBS is showing its R-E-S-P-E-C-T for the late great Queen of Soul, Aretha Franklin, who passed away in August 2018. She was 76. The network is airing a tribute, Aretha! A Grammy Celebration for the Queen of Soul, on Sunday, March 10 at 9 pm. She won 25 Grammys! Several singers will perform her songs including Smokey Robinson, Jennifer Hudson, Yolanda Adams, Shirley Caesar, Alessia Cara, Brandi Carlile, Chloe X Halle, Kelly Clarkson, Common, and Celine Dion, among others.
[The first ever VH1 Divas Show]
At the televised celebration, Celine Dion, who has won 5 Grammy Awards and had the privilege to sing with Franklin in 1998 (at the first ever VH1 Divas show), sings the Sam Cooke song which became a civil rights anthem, “A Change Is Gonna Come,” which is on Aretha’s 1967 album I Never Loved a Man the Way I Love You.
