NBA superstar Russell Westbrook can do anything it seems, on and off the basketball court. The first player to average a triple-double in more than half a century, the 2017 NBA MVP is also a fashion icon who can ignite a trend. After all, Russ’s motto is simply #WhyNot? — and he uses it on the court and as a life style. The superstar fashion style Russ is rocking on his recent vacation the short shorts. See photo below as Russ chases after his adorable one-year-old son, Noah (more on the short shorts below).

Now on the runways and in the Style sections of glossy magazines, the shorter shorts that Westbrook is wearing are prevalent. But in real life, you still don’t see them so much. (Maybe that has something to do with how much better people like Westbrook look in the short shorts than how the average guy looks in them?) But short shorts for a basketball player mean even more — because shorts are a dividing line in the sport. Fans understand that there was a short-shorts era and the long shorts era (now). Michael Jordan, for example, came in during the short shorts era and won his MVPs in long shorts. Magic Johnson and Larry Bird were short-shorts guys pretty much all the way. A few years ago the NBA tried to bring back the short shorts for a couple of tries, but it went nowhere. Now if Westbook wanted them to come back, might be a whole different story… James Harden kinda digs ’em too.
