Actor Jim Cashman‘s “Jamie” is almost as big a deal in Progressive Insurance commercials these days as “Flo” herself. And though Flo (Stephanie Courtney) will occasionally surprise her fans, the writers really gave Jamie a big hidden world to share for his 40th birthday party (in a spot called Jamie’s 40th).

Not only does Jamie have loving kids, a stunning modern mansion, and an operatic tenor to beat the band — Jamie’s got a knockout wife, too, who brings to mind Modern Family‘s Gloria (Sofia Vergara). And it’s not just the alluring accent and striking figure, but her blithe comic delivery (“this one is small like a child”) that steals the scene even from Jamie. It’s a terrific spot from Progressive that delivers both in the surprise and the funny categories. Jamie’s revelation of a wife is played by model/actress Xian Mikol.
“Oh,” Mikol says as she hands Jamie a guitar in front of the shocked faces of the Progressive crew, “Sweetie, please, play for us.” And play he does, and sings in French: “Je t’aime mon amour.” (I love you, my love.) It’s easy to see why.
Xian Mikol is a sought-after spokesmodel who has recently been seen shouting out GUESS fashions on social media. (For more GUESS stuff, go here.) As an actress, IMDB credits listed for Mikol include Everyone is Doing Great (2018) and Shooting the Warwicks (2015). For the record, she is listed at 5′ 9½” or sometimes 5’10” — not including the heels.
