Cab 20 was a rock band in Los Angeles led by 18-year-old singer and guitarist Bert Hoover. Hoover and Cab 20’s band manager, Tom Callahan, pitched the band as a business on Shark Tank in May 2012 — and performed their hit song “Stomp.” The band and Callahan went into the Tank seeking an investment of $200,000 in exchange for 20 percent equity. Callahan explained that investors would get 20 percent of all revenue with the exception of publishing, which did not thrill the Sharks. Kevin O’Leary, who fancies himself a guitarist, made an offer — $200,000 for 50 percent – but the offer was not accepted and, alas, Cab 20 left without a deal.

After Shark Tank, the Cab 20 song “Stomp” was used for an episode of Nickelodeon’s Degrassi — but the band has not produced any new music since. According to Facebook, Bert Hoover is still making music. His new band Hooveriii (SEE LINK ABOVE) just released a record with Mock Records, a vinyl record label in Los Angeles. New episodes of Shark Tank air Sundays at 9 pm on ABC.
