Proof Eyewear is a collection of handcrafted eyewear made from sustainable wood, skateboard decks, cotton based acetate, and recycled aluminum. Three brothers — Tanner, Brooks and Taylor Dame — founded the company in their native Idaho in 2010. As they say, they “grew up with sawdust in their veins” — their grandfather ran a sawmill in the 1950s. The three brothers pitched Proof Eyewear on Shark Tank in February 2013. They didn’t make a deal but the brothers continue to build the business. They recently opened a Proof Flagship Store in downtown Boise.

Since Shark Tank, Proof Eyewear has expanded worldwide (Mexico, India, UK, Philippines, Norway, Spain) and continues to launch new designs including The New Meadows, an over-sized women’s cat eye sunglasses frame. They’ve recently partnered with Slyde, the hand-board company that landed a Shark Tank deal with billionaire Mark Cuban and guest Shark Ashton Kutcher in April 2016. Proof was a sponsor of Slyde’s annual hand-boarding competition this summer in San Clemente, California. New episodes of Shark Tank (Season 10) air Sundays at 9 pm on ABC.
