On Season 2 of 90 Day Fiancé: Before the 90 Days, Jesse, the 24-year-old male model from Amsterdam, travels to Connecticut to visit Darcey, a 42-year-old single mom of two teenage girls. It’s no secret, this couple is always bickering. But when Darcey tries to plan a dinner at home with Jesse and her daughters, tensions continue to rise. When Darcey sits down to put together a grocery list, she asks Jesse for his input but he doesn’t offer any. “Make the list, and we’ll go,” he says in his stoic way. Darcey wants Jesse to be excited about the dinner, but he’s not. He said he’ll do it but “no sassy attitude please,” he adds — which of course infuriates Darcey. Jesse then changes his mind and says “I’m not going.”
Darcey walks out of the house while Jesse sits on the back porch. He tells the camera, “I’m trying to be calm. I also don’t want to ruin the moment. I want to be happy especially when the girls are there.” He takes a deep breathe, and then returns inside the house. This couple reminds us of the classic Bonnie Raitt song, “I Can’t Make You Love Me.” 90 Day Fiance: Before the 90 Days airs Sundays at 8pm on TLC.
