On Friday, August 31, 2018, Dateline is airing an investigation led by NBC News correspondent Katy Tur. Tur investigates sexual harassment allegations at the United States Forest Service. Tur interviews Lesa Donnelly, a former Forest Service employee who spearheaded a class action lawsuit against the agency in 1995. Since then, she’s been helping other women file their complaints. When Tur tells Donnelly the Forest Service says they have a zero-tolerance policy for sexual harassment, Donnelly says, “They’re liars.”
Soon after graduating from the University of California, Santa Barbara in 2005, Katy Tur joined NBC’s New York City station WNBC-TV. She was awarded AP’s Best Spot News Award for coverage of the March 2008 crane collapse in Manhattan. In 2016, she was NBC’s embedded reporter for the Donald Trump presidential campaign. Several times during his campaign rallies, Trump singled out Tur in his criticism of the press. Tur wrote about her experience n the book Unbelievable: My Front-Row Seat to the Craziest Campaign in American History (see link above). Dateline airs Fridays at 10pm on NBC.
