Ronnie Wood, rock legend, is sharing his wisdom and cool. Yup, the one and only Ronald David “Ronnie” Wood, born 1947. He’s still groovin’ just like his Rolling Stones bandmates, however unlikely that may seem — and now he’s got a TV show. Yup Ronnie Wood — this guy embodies rock star — just landed at AXS with a show called, of course, The Ronnie Wood Show.
Wood will be talking with other great guitarists and it’s a rock fan’s dream. First up? Slash, the Guns N’ Roses ax slinger. Wood does the show from his house in Kingston and it’s just cool programming. After that, Kelly Jones of Stereophonics chats with Wood. This show is all expertise, fun, rhythm and oohs.
Below are a few clips that reveal — or merely remind you — how good and important a guitarist Ronnie Wood is. They show why when Slash met Wood when Slash was just 13 — his buddy’s dad was an actor who knew The Stones — he started to watch “whatever Ronnie was doing guitar-wise.” (They hung out by the pool together in LA.) Could be the best recipe for music success out there — do whatever Ronnie Wood is doing. Bravo, AXS! Thanks! The Ronnie Wood Show premieres on Wednesday, July 25th starting at 8/7c on AXS TV.
